PRR 2253, EF-25, 1966
Birmingham. Here is an original photo that I took near Birmingham, Pennsylvania, on 16 April 1966. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2253 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. #2253 is an EF-25 built by GM-EMD in May of 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They're pulling an eastbound mixed-cargo freight train through what was once the whistlestop at Birmingham ~ site of the Grier School for Girls, the Birmingham School for Girls before that, and the Mountain Female Seminary before that!
